Reflecting on SA Auto Week conference, where Namhla Mniki, Co-Chairperson of the Women Economic Assembly (WECONA), shared insights into WECONA’s mission to reshape South Africa’s economic landscape for women. She shared with delegates how the automotive industry was WECONA’s model sector, as it has actively supported transformation by integrating women-owned businesses into its value chain.

Since the launch of the Automotive Industry Transformation Fund (AITF), we’re proud to have allocated 30% of our funding to women-owned enterprises. This progress is driven by strategic partnerships with organisations like WECONA, reinforcing our commitment to gender equality as a cornerstone of our funding strategy. Together, we’re driving impactful change and creating a more inclusive economy.
